The permit clock under Florida law
Section 553.792 of the Florida Statutes sets approval deadlines that start when a complete application arrives, unless the applicant waives them in writing. For residential units, accessory structures and several other permit types for structures under 7,500 square feet reviewed by a local plans reviewer, the deadline is 30 business days. The local government must give written notice within 5 business days if the application is incomplete. If it does not, the application is treated as complete. If the office misses the deadline, it must cut the fee by 10 percent for each business day. Collier County's pool form asks applicants whether they waive review time limits, a question listed for one and two family homes only, so ask your builder whether that was ticked.
