How Much Does a Pool Cost? What Published Prices Show

There is no official price list for pools in Naples. Here are published national ranges from two sources, with date and limits.

Last updated November 6, 2026. Independent guide, not a pool company.

Important. These are national figures, not Naples prices. Lot, soil, groundwater, enclosure and finish can move a Naples price a lot, and only written quotes show your number.

Price ranges by pool type

NerdWallet's pool cost article, updated August 26, 2025, gives these installed ranges for an in-ground pool and credits HomeAdvisor, HomeGuide and Angi.

The same article gives an average of about $66,000, a range from $14,000 to $135,000 for materials alone according to Angi, and about $50 to $125 per square foot of pool surface.

A second national source

HomeGuide's inground pool cost guide, dated July 16, 2025, gives $25,000 to $100,000 as the usual total, a national average of $62,500, and $80 to $250 per square foot installed. By material it lists fiberglass at $45,000 to $100,000 and concrete at $50,000 to $120,000. It lists a building permit at $100 to $300 and says most contractors include permit fees in the total. The two sources do not match, which shows how wide national ranges are.

Items the Naples permit asks for

Collier County's checklist asks for engineered structural detail, a site-specific pool design with TDH calculations, a stormwater plan on most one and two family lots, and a certified survey on some sites (see the permit guide). Those can be separate lines on a quote, so ask who pays for each.

Be careful with very low "Naples average" prices

A Homeyou page for Naples shows up in Google with an "average pool builders cost" of $7,266 to $10,167. That is far below every in-ground range above, and the page does not say which job it prices. Do not use it to judge a quote.

How to use these numbers

  1. Use the ranges only to spot a quote that looks far too low or far too high.
  2. Ask each builder for an itemized written quote that names the pool type, size, finish, deck, equipment and enclosure.
  3. Compare the same scope across at least three quotes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average cost of an in-ground pool?

NerdWallet reports about $66,000 on average, and HomeGuide about $62,500. Both are national figures, not Florida ones.

What costs extra beyond the pool?

NerdWallet lists permits ($100 to $1,800), site prep ($500 to $3,000), a deck ($3,000 to $20,000), fencing ($1,500 to $10,000), a heater ($2,000 to $4,000) and a filter ($250 to $2,000). A screen enclosure is not on that list, so ask for it as a separate line.
